Roo

Installing with precompiled binaries

If you’re a Linux user or can’t/don’t want to use a package manager you can still download Roo in a standalone .zip file with everything you need to get started. You can find links to the latest binaries on the GitHub releases page. I provide precompiled binaries for macOS, 64-bit Windows, 64-bit Linux and the Raspberry Pi.

Download the latest .zip file and decompress it. Place all files in the unzipped file within your $PATH.

The Mac and Linux versions have one file and one folder:

roo
[roo Libs]

The Raspberry Pi version of Roo depends upon the libunwind library. Install that with the following command:

sudo apt-get install libunwind8

The Windows version includes several files:

roo.exe
msvcp120.dll
msvcp140.dll
msvcr120.dll
vccorlib140.dll
vcruntime140.dll
XojoConsoleFramework64.dll

I use a Mac and I usually place roo and roo Libs in /usr/local/bin.
